He recognizes that what she, a Muggle, thinks is "weird stuff" she can do, is actually latent magical talent, and convinces her to change her mind about schooling at Cambidge and go to Hogwarts instead. The staff is persuaded to allow her to attend, and (within the framework of the canon Harry Potter books), after being sorted into Gryffindor, Severus and Samantha's sometimes humorous, sometimes stormy romantic relationship grows as she begins Hogwart studies and makes friends with the other students. The novel follows the framework of the first book, ending in the temporary defeat of Voldemort, and Samantha promising Severus that she will return to Hogwarts for another year.
